| Save yourself some money.
Don't buy X-Rebirth. If you liked the previous version of the X series, you will kick yourself when you see how they managed to break literally everything that made it good. If you've never played an X game, don't bother with this one. It's a soon-to-be console port for sure... and things simply don't work. Not just the bugs that affect the 'immersion' they were trying to boost, but the features themselves don't work.
Most annoyingly is that they wanted to get away from the menus within menus. Ironically, when you have lots of information to convey, menus are the best way to handle it, now things are more difficult and unwieldy. Second most annoying thing is the lack of other pilotable ships. X has a dozen classes of ships, and 4-5 of most classes, all of them used to be playable. Now all you can do is order those extra ships around from the cockpit of your only playable ship. >.< The lack of a zoom feature also makes the maps impossible to use, and without any autopilot feature (and no time-speeder-upper) you'll spend most of your time just trying to pass other ships on the highway! The terrible part (beyond all of it) is that mostly these are features rather than bugs, so patches won't really... help.
The one thing people have been praising is that the one ship does handle well enough. Which is true... if you ignore that there is no third person view, joystick support, key rebinding, and the presence of an auto-correct for rolling.
I'll stop ranting now. But remember: DON'T BUY X REBIRTH!

| I'm back from the capital and to the past weeks there is only one thing to say to them that fully expresses my disgust: **** you you ****** ****. ****.
My pop schedule:
1. solve admin stuff and placate their anger with gifts and honey. 2. join the event by dealing with behind the curtains stuff. 3. actively participate on the event and RP npcs that need to be RPed.

| So until one of the bosses is around to add me to my order so I can catch up and get started I just wanted to do 2 things.
1st I wanted to say hello to everybody, so. Hello everybody.
2nd I wanted to ask you all to just ignore me if I get a bit pissy, my wife just gave birth to twins and during the c section she had to have there were complications in the form of my little girl kicking her leg causing the surgeon to cut multiple nerves and cut into one muscle, so she's home now but it'll take a while for her to heal so she can't do all that much. So I'm playing nurse for her on top of doing all the house work all the other chores and taking care of both kids 24/7. So I'm averaging about 90 minutes of sleep a day at the moment so it is likely I will get a little pissy at time. I'll do my best to keep it to myself and keep it out of the forums but as any of you who've had kids will know after the first 2 weeks of not sleeping it gets a little difficult to keep your head straight soooooo, yeah sorry in advance and hopefully you'll never have to see it.

| 4 weeks until she can start building her body back up 3 months give or take for a full recovery, it ain't life threatening anyway. Unless you count the complete loss of my social life . | |

| Hey, get used to it buddy. My parents have told me that with kids there isn't much room for social life. Hence why I am terrified of children..... (kidding, kidding....) | |

| Lol thanks a lot, as if I wasn't depressed enough already ;D.
I just thought of a question, can adventurers gain traits? My men are my apprentices so if possible I'd like to be able to simulate my training them and the only way to do it would be if they can gain proficiency traits with weapons.

| We've been debating that. We don't want adventurers to become as powerful/versatile as PCs so we haven't come to a definite answer as far as I know. | |

| Ok, I hope it gets decided that they can. The customization options are good but without the ability to develop SK with weapons it'll become extremely costly to make them as strong as the top end units that cost far less. You could limit them, say allow only up to exceptional in a weapon skill to allow them to develop to become stronger then the other units but not as far as a PC. It would keep it line with them costing more but being worth more in the long run. If not, BRING ON THE CHALLENGE.
In my case however it doesn't matter to much because I'm gonna upgrade them to Master weapons and Lordly armor either way to get them as strong as possible if they survive. I'm aiming to build up a core company of about 10 of them long term.
If one dies can I strip the equipment from his body to arm a new one in the future?

| Just remember that NPC's a easily killed off. Even with traits, they die like...*this*
I hope you were picturing something so that at least has some sense to it.

| Actually I was picturing my little group of 4 mowing down a line of charging knights with arrows while Harvey stands behind them beaming proudly.
Probably not what you were going for huh?

Probably not what you were going for huh? As long as it ends with bloodshed and four dead members of the Von Waggle group...it's good enough for me.
