| My opinion is that Aelos is set up nicely. He's a capable fighter with those traits, and is balanced with a command skill that isn't too high. I would like to see more about his personal experiences rather than just the history of the (in)famous House Sengendal though. | |

| I don't have the time right now to read the story, but would you please put it in spoilers? The spaces make it quite long.
I think with those penalties the character works out well enough. He is certainly very powerful, so the insomnia and hallucinations will need to be more than mere background flavor. | |

| Varys/Ravys: I love the story! It really makes me think of something HP Lovecraft would write... (if he ever used warrior characters that weren't cute little kittens jumping across space.)
Vinson: The story is good in my view! Next thing is to fill out your traits to give the GMs a better clue as to the character's abilities. You can just edit the post though. | |

| So you're all aware, Legendary Swordsman requires Master Swordsman as well. It's just like how Sharpshooter requires Master Archer, it was just left out initially. | |

| My comments and edited character sheets: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Background: Adventurer Traits: - Master Swordsman - Legendary Swordsman Gilaver has perfected his swordmanship mostly through his control of his body.- Skilled Weaponsmith, Gilaver was likely a blacksmith before joining the Order as he can still create incredible weapons out of instinct. - Unflappable, Gilaver spent a lot of time alone in darkness and he no longer cares much about anything. - Perfect Control, The only company Gilaver had was himself, he used the time to slowly perfect his body control +1 SP - exceptional (swords) Scarring: II Wounds: Amnesia. WP 2 (5 with lordly armor) [I'm not sure what effects of a lordly armor were decided. It was under discussion.] SK 0 (+ 5 with two-handed swords [=+2 "exceptional" proficiency; +1 legendary swordsman; +2 masterwork sword]); (+3 with sword-and-shield); (+0 lance-and-shield) Sp -1 with armor. Renown spending: - Master-Crafted Two-Handed Sword -20 (Mistral) - Lordly heavy? Armour -30 - Balanced Longsword -5 - 45 renown left, shield and heavy horse standard issue for knights. You still had two free points to spend. I auto-spent them for the weapons proficiencies that you missed: adventurers have base Skill of 0, and your lance, 2h sword and sword n' board required additional traits to reach the numbers you wrote.
So... you had only 2 points left, which were all used to the good + exceptional proficiency in swords. I had to leave the lance etc. out.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lucius Maximian, Order of the Dawn Function:Priest/Battle Cleric: - background: I assume your background is "priest". Please correct me if I'm wrong - Foreigner - Pyromaniac Finally a new trait! Thanks.- Master Swordsman - Command II - Good (sword): as a priest, you can choose one weapon to have "good" proficiency with. I assume it's the sword, since you're also a swordmasterRenown: - Armored Horse (10) - Masterwork Sword (20) - Masterwork Shield (20) - Masterwork Lance (20) - Lordly Armor (30) According to your info, the stats would be something like this: WP: 2 (5 with heavy lordly armor) [the same as before: I'm not sure about what was decided with the lordly armor. I think equipment costs should undergo a major revision] Skill: 0 + 3 with swords (+1 good proficiency; +2 masterwork sword). Speed: -2 with armor.
Note: you have only two free traits. This means you should choose two traits and remove the rest (you can gain them freely if you RP thme, however).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jareth: Foreign Adventurer: - Foreigner - Charger - Horse Archer - exceptional archer (costs 2 points because includes the "good" proficiency; required for master) - Master Archer - exceptional spearman (costs 2 ppints) - Master Spearman (required for legendary)- Legendary Spearman Same as Pravenstern: legendary (WEAPON) is the final rank of a long line of skills. You'll have to revise your preferences and alter your skills accordingly. Or give yourself enough negative traits Initial Spendings: Shield - 5 Renown Longsword - 5 Renown Composite Bow - 5 Renown Masterwork Spear - 20 Renown Armored Horse - 10 Renown 5 Adventurers - 50 Renown (friends from Mettenheim with Spears and Bows) | |

| I'll need to revise my own bio and will do that once things are settled. I also meant to ask actually, is foreigner a taken trait, or is it granted free? | |

| And Klaus (my last one for today. Now I have to sleep)
Stats WP 2 SK 0 SP 0 Background: Adventurer Traits: Foreigner (Strong Mettenheim accent) good swordsman exceptional swordsman Master Swordsman Strong Hardy Tactician Command II
Adventurers have five free points, you used six. Those in bold were required for the master swordsman trait, so you're actually 3 point behind.
Wounds- N/A
Renown : 70
(Initial spending) 0 : Mettenheim Greatsword (Standard issue, "Keen" for being Mettenheim quality) -30 : Mettenheim Plate Armour (Costed as Lordly, with the same stats) | |

| Yeah no worries. That trait tree wasn't in the rules before hence people have not been using it. I'll modify my starting traits accordingly.
edit - ok, updated bio with that info. | |

Yes, sorry. You'd still need exceptional before master though. | |

| Two more: ------------------------------------------------ Aelos Stats WP 2 (5 with heavy armor) SK 0 (+2 with average sword) (+1 with crossbow) SP -2 with armor
Background: Noble Traits: good (1H swords; crossbow): free noble traits exceptional (sword) Master Swordsman Strong Basher Command II
[you'll have to discard three skills.]
----------------------------------------------- Ravys, The Crucified
Stats WP 4 (Lordly Medium Armor), SK 0 (+3 swords) (+1 with your other two weapons) SP -1 (i'm guessing, medium armor) yes, that's correct.
Background: Crusading Adventurer
Traits: Experienced swordsman do you mean average proficiency (swords)? Because that one is free. good () : free adventurer trait. pick one. good () : free adventurer trait. pick one. good (swords) exceptional (swords) (costs 1) Master Swordsman (costs 1) Legendary Swordsman (costs 1) Hardy (costs 1) Strong (costs 1) Unflappable (costs 1) Command I (costs 1)
Insomnia (1 free point) Hallucinations(1 free point) torture scars (permanent, 1 free point) phobia of crucifixion (I'd consider this and the next one amounting 1 free point) phobia of spiders.
You have spent 7 points and gained 5. An adventurer has 5 free points. This means you still get 3 points to spend. I don't consider it OP, since your wounds may be used against you.

| Command will be separate from the other traits since every PC will need at least Command I and likely will want to improve it over the course of the RP. At the lower levels, it won't cost you points. Try to make it fit with your bio, and if you're going to RP a great commander, skip a trait or two to keep things balanced. This is fairly subjective, of course. | |

| They way I did it was Command I is free, if you want to bump it up with "Natural Commander / Leader" at the start, then that costs a trait. We can then get more after that is through experience / RP. | |

| @Mesor: your troops cost too much. Retainers cost 7 renown per unit and Order Knights cost 10 renown per unit.
20 Retainers = 140 Renown
10 Knights = 100 Renown
so you spent 240 Renown instead of the allowed 120

| Mesor, I edited your post to include some spaces in your bio that seemed like you'd intended them, but the forum didn't format it that way. I then put the bio in spoilers since it became quite large. As Psychozoa said, you've spent far too much renown. 5 Knights and 10 Retainers would have spent all of the 120 reserved for troops. You would still have 50 renown left over that could be spent on more troops... but it is advisable to spend some on equipment too. The bio seems acceptable to me, though! | |

| Each character begins with 5 Knights and 10 Retainers of their Order. Or at least thats what it says in the character creation thread or is that no longer the case? The men I listed was counting them and those I spent the 120 points on.
