Hey Jing Ming... or Mordred, or anyone.  Do we have any option to go back to our old system?  I'm not adjusting to this one successfully. >.>

Time for mr.negativity to rear his head again. *sigh*

I think that starting up another roleplay when this one is hardly out of its infancy (and basing it around a system that drove many away from the original) is a bad idea. Spending some more time on a kingdom divided and hammering out any issues that remain (if there are any, I for one wouldn't know for sure, you adminy types would) would be better than trying to create another new one with its own system.

Feel free to not listen to me though, im one voice.

Where? Here or in Aftermath? I don't know. I'm always eager to find a simple and easy systems and I have no strong attachments to my stuff, so I'd go with anything quicker and better.

EDIT: That's something to consider, Arcanum. I haven't thought about it because I can't participate in Aftermath due to time constraints, but now that you said it is worth considering.

I believe by system, Isabel Tenorio is referring to the new text formatting.

However, I think overall this is a change that affects all boards for this "type" (brand, service, or whatever the term is). The Aftermath forums has the same updated text editor as this one.

* * *

As for a new roleplay, I can see why two different roleplays going on at once can be problematic, but if the staff is dedicated to making the roleplay work and players willing to participate, then there shouldn't be much of a problem. Either way, I'm in the minority who is mostly concerned about the the Struggle for Kelredan mini-event on the Aftermath forums.

The last button on the lower toolbar reads "switch editor mode". I've clicked and I'm not sure what it does.

I see the problem with not getting outside of quotes, this new editor doesn't allow it unless you play a little clever with it. To get the old editor back, just press to button on the far right (likely on the 2nd row) "Switch Editor Mode". That goes back to old school.

As to Aftermath Reborn, I am the players' servant, if they want one I will make it. If you're worried about it being to meta-gamey, then I will note that too. Like I said I purposefully made its development public so you can shout at me if that becomes the case- just please let me know what elements are bad / too complicated. I realise that this will not please everyone (that would be impossible), but I can at least endeavour to make one that is, particularly if you guide me during its development.

Well, I would like to see Aftermath reborn, but I won't play or host anything there, so my opinion doesn't count.

About the metagame: if it's not implemented, Mordred, I think you should consider publishing it. It should look  good on your portfolio. I don't have the brains to understand it very well, but it's surely something impressive.

I agree with Jing Ming,

the development of such a large system, with all its intricacies and features, is truly a testament to your hard work and dedication. Any employer would be sure to appreciate that

I agree. I honestly don't have the time or desire to be invested in yet another forum-based RP either. I'm liking the new system but I'm also enjoying AKD so it's not that I prefer one over the other, it's just the time issue. That's just my perspective (and obviously I'm just one person so I'm probably a minority! Razz)

Well, as tedious as it would be, perhaps another poll is in order.  With 3-4 people serving as the GM/Admin staff, we may not have enough potential players to make this worthwhile.

How is this for phrasing it:

Do you expect that you'll play the noble-focused Aftermath Reborn?

Yes, as a player.

Yes, but as staff.

No, I don't have the time nor/or interest.

No, you suck.

I already created my noble character, just like Pravenstout.

So, I'm up as a player!

We wouldn't need that much admin/gm support, we are trying to make a system that needs less host interaction.

I would definitely play as a player. But if noone else goes, I would have no problem being a mediator

I'd love to participate, but in the name of fairness I will arbitrate. My plan is that the rules are written in such a way that players can rotate to do "GM" duties, though in essence that will simply be colouring in the map if anything changes. Battles are now scripted to be really simple to implement. The only real question mark now is about secrecy. If troop movements / skirmishes are done on the sly then obviously that cannot be delegated, otherwise it can.

There are no NPCs planned, therefore no hosting proper. Everything ought to be self contained and interactive purely between the players (hence the need for possible arbitration).

Personally, I'm not actually against this new RP. In fact, I'd consider switching over if that's the way the wind was blowing. I'm simply not interested in doing both simultaneously. So I wouldn't necessarily count me out.

Last thing I want to do is destroy AKD, especially as its going so well. That should absolutely be the priority.

I meant that AKD will have to die someday.

As will Aftermath.

And planet Earth.

And the Sun.

And the universe.

*. I reccomend the link. Very, very strongly.

An Asimov fan sent it to me. Now I found out that there's another one, called the "The Last Answer". I haven't read it, though.
